Joining a Lab Series

Enter your series join code, identify yourself, and reach the labs your instructor has made available.

What you need

Your instructor will give you a series join code or a direct join link. A join code looks similar to OAK-742.

Join with a join code

  1. Open Join a Lab Series.
  2. Enter the join code exactly as your instructor provided it.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. If you are joining as a guest, enter the full display name your instructor will recognize.
  5. Read and accept the participant privacy notice, then select Join a Lab Series.

Some series require a registered account. If you see a sign-in message, sign in with the account your instructor expects. A roster-only series requires your email on the roster; a domain-restricted series requires an approved email domain. Anyone can create an account; verify your email before signing in. Creating an account does not grant series creation or instructor permissions.

After you join

Dialog Lab shows the labs your instructor has published for that series. An active lab can be opened immediately. A published lab appears as Upcoming; you can read its orientation, but conversations open only when your instructor starts it.

You can return to your enrolled series and labs at any time from Labs.

If you joined as a guest, use the same browser and device to return to your work. Creating an account does not automatically transfer a guest conversation. Ask your instructor to merge your guest record with your account in the roster if you need continued access.

If the join code does not work

  • Check for missing letters, numbers, or hyphens.
  • Ask your instructor whether the join code has changed.
  • Confirm that you are using the join code for the correct series.
  • If the series requires an account, make sure you are signed in with the expected email address.
